Ambience
Marleen and Mathijs have run the Strandtent De Pit together since 2012. Take it all in quietly from the rocking couch and sprint off to the sea for a refreshing dip. Dream away to the reggae or any other cheerful, unusual tune that comes through the speakers. The beach club brings a cosy, homey atmosphere to the beach.

What can you eat here?
The smell of the wood-burning oven comes to mind as you walk through the dunes. Strandtent De Pit is known for its delicious pizzas from the wood-fired oven with a wafer-thin base. There are also well-stocked shelves with meat or fish products on the menu.
What makes De Pit De Pit?
Re-use, do-it-yourself and attention to nature & the environment are characteristic of the Pit. So it is not surprising that the current restaurant was created from two 40ft containers that have been completely transformed. The terrace is filled with furniture that has been carefully brought in from the thrift shop. Everything together creates a cosy and above all homely atmosphere.

The Pit is suitable for literally anyone who likes sand between their toes, combined with a nice snack and drink in the sun.
Walk towards the horizon, through the dunes to the sea, take off your shoes and turn right at the beach entrance of Vlugtenburg ‘s-Gravenzande. This is where you will find Beach Tent the Pit.
At De Pit, you can drop in unannounced. Would you like to eat with a large group? Then it is advisable to book in advance, especially on summer days. The reception will be happy to help you with this if required.
